Judged Exhibition

See judged artistry from each of the disciplines of the sponsoring clubs. In addition to ribbons for each division, each club awards a Best-of-Show winner, there’s People’s Choice awards, and special awards like the Mayor’s Award and the Idaho Commission on the Arts Award. The artistry is made by workers from all over Idaho and the Pacific Northwest. Compare your views with the judge’s awards and decide who really should have won! Maybe you should enter your work next year?

Featured Artist

Each year the club hosting the show presents a Featured Artist. The Featured Artist is selected from the top artists of the host club. For 2023 we’ll extend this to Featured Artists — the Ada County Woodworkers Association presents featured Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Artists. The artist designs the work and the computer produces it. This is fascinating new ground. You can learn more about CNC and the resulting work here.

Shown:

The NBC Super Bowl LII (Eagles vs Patriots) Game Day Show featured these Idaho CNC artist created footballs. The CNC Featured Artists will display one of these during the show.

Auctions

Bid on your favorite artistry, tools, and who knows what else donated for our Silent Auction. The Silent Auction runs through the show. Check back often to make sure you haven’t been outbid!

And, to boot, we have a tremendously fun, real live auction with a real live auctioneer during the Saturday night banquet. Our auctioneer this year is Sam Matisse, cowboy poet and auctioneer. Sam performed as our auctioneer last year. Even if you don’t bid on an auction item, you’ll enjoy Sam’s entire performance. There’s a good chance a Vanna or two may show up to parade the artistry around for all to see. Come join the fun.

The proceeds help fund the Idaho Artistry in Wood and Gourds show. All the auction pieces are donated from our supporting artists.

Click here to see some of the 2024 auction items.

The banquet is Saturday, April 6th, with No-Host Bar starting at 5:15. Meal starts at 6:00 in JUMP's Pioneer Room.

Artisan Sales Booth

Want to buy art work like the pieces entered in the show? Visit the Artisan Sales Booth. Artists from all the disciplines in the show have artwork available for sale here. You can pay with cash, check, or credit card (3% fee for credit card purchases) and walk away with wonderful artistry. We sometimes get more artistry then can be displayed; so, ask to see more.

If you’re a club member and would like to enter your artistry for sale, click here for all the details.

Vendor Tools w.png

Vendors

You’ll have the opportunity to visit the displays of a limited number of vendors dealing in wood and gourd artistry products. These are highly specialized vendors dealing in products directly related to the artistry work of our show. You can talk to the vendors’ representives and even purchase products if you wish.

Most people find this an interesting and informative part of the show.

Shown: tools, lots of tools.
